ZimBoi K.i has released the video for ‘Amai’ (Amai means Mother in Shona one of the native languages in Zimbabwe) the lead single from his latest project “The Boi Who Dreams” and it was well worth the wait. “This is a dedication to all the hard working Mothers out there.” – ZimBoi K.i says. The video ties into the song pretty well, with the overarching narrative of the track centering around a Moms love for her child, and how that has shaped ZimBoi K.i as a person.
The track was produced by international producer Trakksounds who has worked with the likes of, Wiz Khalifa, 2 Chains, A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ferg, Mac Miller, Bun B and more. The song was mix and mastered by the legendary Neil T Music Studios.
The video isn’t only fitting to the song, it’s pretty entertaining and emotive. It takes you through what one might look like or feel like when they daydream. The songs theme is reminiscent of Kanye West’s “Hey Mama”
ZimBoi K.i’s video makes you want to get outside and take in a breath of fresh air thanks to cinematographer & director, Carvey T Barends for the crisp shots of the outdoors. A fitting concept for daydreaming.
